According to the public prosecutor, the deaths date back to the period from April 2018 to October 2025. The remains were discovered in the couple's residence following searches conducted by the partner. He had presented himself to law enforcement, concerned about his partner's pregnancies that were only discovered late.
On Sunday, the woman allegedly gave birth alone at home before being taken to hospital. It was then that the man allegedly found traces resembling human remains at their residence. On Monday, investigators searched the apartment. A forensic pathologist estimated that the remains found belonged to five different newborns.
When questioned by investigators, the suspect allegedly stated that the infants were born dead. The newspaper "Le Parisien" reports these statements. On Wednesday, the woman in her thirties left the clinic and was placed directly in provisional detention. The child born on Sunday, a baby boy, is in good health. The couple is also raising two other children, aged eight and nine years old.
