The Colmar magistrates' court imposed a six-month custodial sentence on a 30-year-old man on Thursday. The defendant faced several charges arising from offences committed on 29 October 2025 in the western districts of the Alsatian town.
The incidents date to that October day, when the 30-year-old was involved in a high-speed chase with law enforcement. During the pursuit, the driver threw sachets containing narcotics out of his vehicle window.
In addition to possession of illicit substances, the man was prosecuted for driving without a valid driving licence and for failing to comply with police orders.
The prosecution sought a sentence of six months' imprisonment, which the judges followed precisely when delivering their verdict on Thursday.
