The Toulouse Court of Appeal indicated on Monday 6 July 2026 that it had been informed of Cédric Jubillar's confessions only through the media. No official action was taken by the condemned man's lawyers with the court clerk or the president of the assize court.
This clarification came after La Dépêche du Midi published a handwritten letter in which the painter-plasterer acknowledged the murder of his wife Delphine, who disappeared in late 2020. The appeal trial is scheduled for 21 September 2026.
