According to humanite.fr, the far-right did not limit itself to media and political exploitation of the murder of Thomas Perotto in Crépol. It also mobilised around certain victims to obtain recognition of the aggravating circumstance of racism against "the white race and the French nation", which was ultimately upheld by examining judges in Valence in their indictment order of 25 September, against the opinion of the prosecution.
Deputy affiliated with the National Rally Thibaut Monnier advised victims to turn to the General Alliance Against Racism and for Respect of French and Christian Identity (AGRIF) and its lawyer Jérôme Triomphe. Le Figaro detailed this strategic organisation around the judicial matter.
The classification of racism "against the white race" upheld by the judges remains contested by certain legal and political observers, whilst the far-right continues to make it a central element of its communication on this case.
