The Court of Review has rendered a historic decision by quashing the conviction of Dany Leprince. This man had been found guilty of a fourfold homicide that occurred in 1994 in the Sarthe. The magistrates also ordered the organisation of a new hearing before a criminal court.
This type of procedure remains extremely rare in France. Since 1945, only around a dozen people have succeeded before this exceptional court. The Court of Review examines cases where serious doubts weigh on final convictions.
Dany Leprince had been found guilty of the murder of four members of the same family. He has consistently maintained his innocence throughout the decades that have elapsed since the events.
