Dismantling of Franco-Spanish drug-trafficking network in Normandy
Gendarmes conducted an operation on 4 June 2026 resulting in the seizure of 405 kilogrammes of cannabis and the arrest of eight individuals. The trafficking was structured between Spain and several communes in the Eure and Eure-et-Loir departments.

Gendarmes announced on Wednesday the results of a major judicial investigation conducted in north-western France. The operation took place on 4 June 2026.
In total, eight people were taken into custody. Law enforcement also seized a significant quantity of cannabis: 405 kg of cannabis were confiscated during this coordinated operation. Weapons were also recovered.
The investigation had begun a few months earlier. Investigators from the research units based in Rouen and Orléans were following the trail of a criminal organisation specialised in importing narcotics from Spain into France. The networks identified were based around Dreux, in Eure-et-Loir, as well as in the Évreux region, in Eure.
This operation is part of a series of recent cases in Normandy. Another parallel case had already seen eleven members of the same family implicated in drug-dealing activities, with the confiscation of nearly one hundred thousand euros in cash.
