On Monday 6 July 2026, shortly before 5 p.m., a team from the anti-crime brigade in Niort conducted a traffic check. The appearance of a motor vehicle caught the attention of the officers, triggering an operation that resulted in the discovery of a drug trafficking racket.
Investigators proceeded to the son's home, where they found sachets containing narcotics. The father, a septuagenarian, was caught red-handed whilst attempting to hide these substances. Furthermore, law enforcement seized a sum of 15,000 euros in cash and a safe.
Following this search, the father and one of his descendants were remanded in custody. They are now the subject of judicial proceedings for offences relating to drug trafficking. Investigations are continuing in order to establish the extent of this network and to identify any potential accomplices.
