Suspicious double death in Toulouse: prosecutors cite domestic homicide

The office of the prosecutor of Toulouse opened a judicial investigation into "domestic homicide" following the grim discovery in a flat in the Pech-David district, in Haute-Garonne. The facts were revealed on the evening of Tuesday, 30 June 2026.

It was the woman's family, concerned at not having heard from her since 23 June, who alerted the emergency services. Firefighters forced their way into the property, which was locked from the inside, and discovered two bodies. They are believed to be a woman of approximately fifty years old and her partner, aged 67, with whom she had been living for around fifteen years.

Examination of the bodies revealed that the woman had been struck by a blow to the abdomen. Her partner presented a head wound consistent with a rifle shot. A hunting rifle was found near him. The evidence suggests that the two people died several days before the discovery.

The case was assigned to the criminal brigade of the DCOS, the division specialising in organised crime matters, which must determine the exact chronology of events and the circumstances in which this tragedy occurred.
