Two teenagers aged 18 have admitted to starting fires in the Fontainebleau forest and at Arbonne-la-Forêt on 13 July. One is a student, the other a volunteer firefighter.

Two individuals, both aged eighteen and with no connection to each other, were placed in police custody. During their questioning, they admitted to deliberately starting the fires. One of the two is a student, whilst the other works as a volunteer firefighter. The public prosecutor's office requested their remand in custody. They were to be brought before an investigating judge at Fontainebleau court on Wednesday 15 July.
Furthermore, the investigation into the first fire on 12 July is continuing. According to prosecutor Diane Ngomsik, the investigations are currently favouring the theory of an accidental fire that occurred during work carried out on the edge of the A6 motorway. Nevertheless, other causes, including criminal ones, remain under examination. Any potential suspects could be brought before the courts as early as tomorrow.
