A 26-year-old French national was apprehended at the border between Albania and Montenegro whilst attempting to smuggle a Thai woman hidden in a suitcase.

Albanian police officers made an unusual discovery during a routine check at the Sukobin-Murićani border crossing, located on the border between Albania and Montenegro. Inside a large suitcase placed on the back seats of a vehicle, law enforcement found a concealed woman, according to Serbian media outlet Telegraf.
The driver, a 26-year-old French citizen, was planning to illegally transport this Thai national from Albania. According to initial investigation findings, the planned route was to cross Montenegro, then Croatia, before reaching France as the final destination.
The authorities proceeded with the arrest of the young man as well as the woman found in the baggage. Investigators are continuing their work in order to establish all the circumstances surrounding this case of illegal border crossing.
