Seizure of €65 million in McKinsey investigation for tax fraud

La Libre reports that the French National Financial Prosecutor (PNF) announced on Friday the seizure of €65 million as part of an investigation into aggravated money laundering of tax fraud targeting the consulting firm McKinsey. The operation was conducted jointly with Belgian authorities.

According to a joint statement from the PNF and the King's Prosecutor in Brussels, this sum represents "96 per cent of the fiscal damage according to the assessment of the national financial prosecutor".

The preliminary investigation had been opened in March 2022, following a Senate inquiry commission on the influence of private consulting firms on French public policy since Emmanuel Macron's arrival at the presidency in 2017. Witness and suspect interviews took place in 2025 and 2026. The PNF specifies that the investigation is ongoing.
