Shooting at Aubagne school: second minor detained for questioning

Counterterrorism investigation relaunched

According to TF1 Info, a minor was detained for questioning on Wednesday 14 October on the basis of a rogatory commission from investigating judges specialising in counterterrorism. The investigation concerns the shooting that occurred at Lakanal school in Aubagne, where a headmaster and a teacher were shot and wounded on 12 October.

A judicial source confirms to TF1/LCI that the investigations remain "covered by confidentiality" and that no details about this new suspect can be disclosed at this stage. Further information will be communicated at the end of the questioning.

A 14-year-old schoolboy, suspected of carrying out the shooting, had already been committed for trial and placed in provisional detention. The young man had admitted to the facts and acknowledged having been "influenced" by a movement fascinated by mass shootings. The national counterterrorism prosecutors' office has seized the case.
