Gorcy: 15-year-old minor found dead, asphyxiation the leading theory
A boy aged fifteen was found dead in the room where he slept, in Gorcy, a locality near Longwy in the department of Meurthe-et-Moselle. It was his parents who made the discovery on Sunday 28 June, in the middle of the afternoon.
The medical-legal examination carried out the following Tuesday favoured the theory of death linked to an asphyxic syndrome. To dispel any remaining doubts, additional samples will be analysed in the laboratory.
The public prosecutor at the tribunal of Val-de-Briey, Sophie Partouche, clarified that toxicological and pathological examinations were underway. These investigations aim to confirm or rule out the hypothesis of exposure to harmful inhaled substances.
The gendarmes of the investigations unit attached to the Val-de-Briey company have been assigned the judicial inquiry.
