A resident of Grenoble, aged 42, appeared before the magistrates' court of the city in a drugs case. Bilal Boukhal recounts that his problems began two or three years ago, during a night when he allegedly stole 200 grammes of cocaine from dealers.
"I had no money, I was short of it, I had nothing left to live on," he explained from the dock. According to his account, he had spotted suspicious comings and goings to a car and had understood that this was where the goods were hidden. He allegedly went there at 3 o'clock in the morning to seize the drugs. "But that is suicidal!" the court president exclaimed.
The defendant added: "I thought I had done things properly but they had put cameras in the car…" He claims that the traffickers subsequently forced him to keep the drugs for their account, after discovering the theft thanks to these surveillance cameras.
