A man died after being attacked with a sharp weapon on the evening of Wednesday 27 May near Macal secondary school, located in Saint-François, Guadeloupe. The alert was raised with gendarmes at 20:38. When emergency responders arrived at the scene, the man was in cardio-respiratory arrest. His death was pronounced at 21:10.
During the evening, several specialists attended the scene: the duty magistrate, the medical examiner and forensic experts. They conducted initial investigations on site. An autopsy of the body was to be carried out on Friday 29 May.
The judicial authorities opened an investigation for murder to determine the exact circumstances in which this assault took place. Local residents have cited a possible dispute linked to romantic feelings as a potential explanation.
