Guillotin admits to violence, his ex-partner has filed a complaint for assault and harassment
YouTuber and comedian Grégory Guillotin, known for his hidden-camera content, has admitted to exercising physical and psychological violence against his former partner. According to rtl.fr, she filed a complaint on 17 June with the public prosecutor's office at the judicial court in Évry, Essonne, for domestic violence and harassment.
"I am ashamed," Guillotin wrote in a statement issued by his teams. "My former partner has filed a complaint against me for physical and psychological violence. She suffered them. I will neither deny them nor attempt to justify them."
Acts spanning 2019 to 2026
The complainant, aged 27, accuses the comedian of repeated violence throughout the duration of their relationship, between 2019 and 2026. She was 19 when they met on social media; he was 35.
Her lawyer, Me Jean-Baptiste Riolacci, told the AFP that his client "showed great courage in reporting years of blows, insults and denigration". He added that she "fears more than anything that the acts she suffered will be repeated on other women".
A detailed account of violence and surveillance
In the complaint, of which the AFP became aware, the complainant describes a system of control mixing surveillance, humiliation and insults. She places the first blows in April 2022, at the couple's home in the Parisian suburbs. Other incidents allegedly followed: a kick in December 2022 during a stay in the Maldives, a slap and several kicks in Morocco in 2023, and a punch to the eye in 2024.
According to the complaint, during the stay in Morocco, Guillotin allegedly slapped her, threw a bowl of cereal at her face, and then falsely announced the cancellation of her return flight ticket.
The complainant also describes a surveillance camera system installed by Guillotin at their home in the year before their separation. The comedian allegedly justified their installation by the presence of tradespeople carrying out work. But according to the complaint, this system also served to constantly monitor his partner's movements and activities, with Guillotin "immediately reproaching her (...) when she was resting, was slow to respond to his messages or did not carry out the tasks expected of her according to his criteria".
Public apologies, judicial silence
In his statement, Guillotin apologises to his former partner, "even if I know this may seem trivial". He also mentions psychiatric care that began a year before the end of the relationship, followed by specialist psychological support for domestic violence.
"For years, I made millions of people laugh. At home, on several occasions, I was also violent with the person who shared my life. Both are true. Both have been me. I never want to be the second again," he wrote.
Regarding the other matters covered by the complaint, he indicated he will speak to investigators rather than publicly, noting that he "will not discuss this matter publicly again before the end of proceedings".
