Boualem Naman, alias Doualemn, was sentenced on appeal in Montpellier for publishing a video on TikTok inciting violence against an opponent of the Algerian government.

The Montpellier court of appeal confirmed on Thursday 2 July 2026 the sentence handed to Boualem Naman, known by the pseudonym Doualemn, of five months' imprisonment with the sentence suspended, according to ICI Hérault cited by Franceinfo.
The former 60-year-old influencer, an Algerian national, was tried for a post on TikTok broadcast in January 2025. In the video, he called for violence to be inflicted on an opponent of Algerian power. The judges found him guilty of "incitement not followed by effect to commit a crime or offence".
Boualem Naman was already subject to expulsion to Algeria following his arrest. However, the Algerian authorities sent him back to France. Since March 2025, an order for his expulsion from French territory has been in place. The Paris administrative tribunal is currently examining this measure.
Since his discharge from a psychiatric hospital on 18 May following an attempted suicide, the individual has been subject to house arrest. The Hérault prefecture considers him a "serious threat to public order" and has extended this measure by a further forty-five days from 1 July.
