The family of Eden, 14, injured during a school blockade, has filed a complaint for attempted murder against a police officer.

Complaint for attempted murder following shooting of 14-year-old schoolboy at Saint-Ouen-l'Aumône
The family of Eden, 14, has filed a complaint for "attempted wilful murder" and "wilful violence with a weapon committed by persons exercising public authority against a minor under fifteen years of age", according to franceinfo.fr. The complaint was filed by Maître Elsa Marcel, the young man's lawyer, in a statement published on Saturday, 3 October.
The boy had been seriously wounded in the face on Monday, 28 September at Saint-Ouen-l'Aumône (Val-d'Oise), during a blockade organised outside the Château d'Épluches secondary school. According to his lawyer, he was struck "by a tear-gas grenade launcher projectile".
Double jaw fracture and broken teeth
Eden's injuries are severe: the teenager is suffering from "a double jaw fracture, all of his upper teeth are broken and he is missing four lower teeth", Maître Marcel clarified in an initial statement. He was transported to Pontoise general hospital following the incident.
Two investigations opened by the Pontoise prosecutor's office
The Pontoise prosecutor's office announced as early as 28 September the opening of two separate investigations. The first, entrusted to the IGPN — the General Inspectorate of the National Police — concerns the shot fired by the police officer. The second investigation concerns acts of violence allegedly committed by the schoolboy against a police officer, just before the shooting.
According to the prosecutor's office, the incidents occurred around 10:30. "A schoolboy came into contact with a police officer, a unit commander", the institution wrote. "From initial evidence gathered and resulting from the examination of images, the minor was striking this officer who was pushing him back." The young man then reportedly fell to the ground, before a second police officer used his so-called "Cougar" launcher and fired at the schoolboy, who received a projectile in the face area.
