Mother and son arrested for rape near Paris
Law enforcement has apprehended a woman in her sixties and her son in his fifties in the commune of Pantin, located in the Paris region. According to BILD, the mother allegedly deliberately lured a young passer-by into a trap.
The trap was sprung on 14 June. The septuagenarian approached the victim on the street, asking for her help carrying shopping bags up to her flat on the seventh floor. The young woman, acting in good faith, agreed to carry the bags.
Once there, the situation took a sinister turn. The pensioner's son was waiting in the flat. He seized the passer-by, dragged her forcibly into a bedroom and raped her. After the assault, he held the victim captive and made threats of mutilation against her.
The young woman nevertheless managed to escape. She found a pretext to go out onto the balcony, then fled barefoot and climbed down to a flat five storeys below. A neighbour took her in and alerted the police.
In a chilling detail, the mother subsequently appeared at the neighbour's door, claiming that the victim had left her shoes behind.
Investigators discovered that the son already had a record for sexual offences and violence. Twenty-two years earlier, the same pair had already been suspected of a similar crime, with the mother having served as bait to lure another woman.
