Aramburu murder: 27 years sought against Le Priol, 20 years against Bouvier
The prosecution is seeking 27 years imprisonment against Loïk Le Priol and 20 years against Romain Bouvier for the assassination of Argentine rugby player Federico Martin Aramburu.

The advocate general sought 27 years imprisonment on Wednesday, 23 September, against Loïk Le Priol, aged 32, the principal accused in the assassination of former Argentine rugby player Federico Martin Aramburu, shot dead on rue de Paris on 19 March 2022, according to BFM TV. His co-accused Romain Bouvier, aged 35, a figure in the far-right movement, faces 20 years imprisonment.
Le Priol is accused of firing six times at Aramburu. Before the Paris assize court, he claimed to have acted in "self-defence" and to have acted "by military reflex". Questioned by judge Franck Zientara about the fight that occurred on the terrace of the Le Mabillon bar, in the 6th arrondissement, he described the rugby player pulling his hood as an "humiliation".
Whilst Le Priol acknowledges opening fire, he maintained throughout the hearings that his action was not premeditated, refuting any organised hunt. He also returned to his involvement in the far-right movement, notably his participation in GUD demonstrations, a student association dissolved in 2024: "The GUD were not Nazis", he insisted on clarifying.
Lighter sentences were sought for people prosecuted for complicity after the fact — suspected of having concealed evidence or provided logistical aid during the fugitives' flight of the two accused. The advocate general requested 3 years imprisonment of which 12 months suspended for Lyson R., and 3 years of which 24 months suspended for Anthony S. These defendants appeared at liberty.
The verdict is expected on Friday, 25 September, before the Paris assize court.
