According to Google News FR — Crime (fr), a new element has emerged in the investigation into the death of Sonia Bellina, the 29-year-old influencer whose body was discovered burnt in the vineyards of Saint-Gilles, in Gard, on Wednesday, 12 August.

According to information from BFMTV, one of the two main suspects in custody personally knew the victim. This same man was moreover already known to French justice, according to a source close to the case.

The second suspect would have, according to this same source, "much lesser involvement" in the murder of the influencer. The two men remain in custody at the time of publication of this information. They would both reside in the Nîmes urban area and would be aged around thirty.

Since the disappearance of the young woman, those close to Sonia Bellina have spoken on social media and in the media. A video published on TikTok, from a woman presenting herself as the victim's sister, is circulating widely. The influencer's older sister indicates in it that Sonia Bellina had been seeing a man for some time. "She went out one evening and never came back," she states.

The murder of Sonia Bellina could be counted as the 86th femicide since the start of the year in France.
