Murder by shooting in Maxéville: suspect charged with assassination
A man was charged and remanded in custody following the death of a 23-year-old youth during a shooting linked to drug trafficking in Maxéville.

According to Google News FR — Crime (fr), a man suspected of killing a 23-year-old youth was charged with "assassination" and remanded in custody, the Nancy prosecutor's office announced on Saturday.
The suspect was presented to an investigating judge on Saturday morning. Deputy prosecutor Amaury Lacôte told AFP that the accused "admits to having fired on the victim", in the context of a shooting whose origin "is linked to drug trafficking".
The facts date back to Wednesday evening, at approximately 21:15, in the Champ-le-Bœuf neighbourhood, a priority neighbourhood of urban policy (QPV) in Maxéville, a town of approximately 10,000 inhabitants in the suburbs of Nancy. Bullet impacts had been recorded on a building shortly after the shots were fired.
According to L'Est Républicain, a second volley of gunfire was recorded Thursday morning, not far from the site of the first assassination. Sixteen bullet impacts, most of them through-and-through, were discovered on the door of an apartment. The couple and their children who lived there were absent at the time of the shots.
These new facts "are, in principle, linked to the shooting of 19 August", Mr Lacôte specified. The age of the suspect was not disclosed by the prosecutor's office.
