Monaco: suspect in assassination attempt found dead in Ukraine
The main suspect in the explosion that targeted a Ukrainian oligarch in Monaco has been found dead in Kyiv. Anastasiia Berezovska, aged 39, presented gunshot impacts to the head, according to Ukrainian police authorities who announced this on 7 July.
This Ukrainian national, domiciled in Germany, was actively sought by investigators in Monaco. She was being pursued for attempted murder, placing an explosive device on a public road for criminal purposes, and conspiracy.
The attack to which she was linked had injured the businessman as well as members of his family. Ukrainian investigators have arrested two individuals suspected of being responsible for the death of Ms Berezovska. One of them is reportedly a former law enforcement officer, the other a current employee of the Ukrainian military intelligence service (GUR).
The investigations showed that these two men had made several transfers to the victim's bank accounts and cryptocurrency wallets. The Ukrainian public prosecutor's office identified them as individuals potentially involved in the assassination attempt on the Rock.
