Anastasia Berezovska, wanted for attempted assassination by explosion in Monaco, has been found dead near Kyiv. Two individuals, including a Ukrainian intelligence officer, have been taken into custody.

Anastasia Berezovska, the principal suspect in the explosive attack that occurred in the principality of Monaco, has been found dead in the vicinity of Kyiv during the night of 6 July. This is according to franceinfo, which specifies that the death resulted from multiple gunshots. The body is also reported to have been buried underground.
The news was revealed on Tuesday on the front page of a Ukrainian daily newspaper. Other publications from the same country claim that law enforcement located the body at around 23:00. These facts have been confirmed by Ukrainian police services.
Known by the nickname "the bob-haired woman," Berezovska was suspected of having attempted to eliminate Vadim Ermolaev, a Ukrainian businessman among the hundred richest individuals in his country. He had taken refuge in Monaco following the Russian invasion of 2022. After the explosion, the fugitive is reported to have travelled through France and Italy, then returned to Germany where she had previously lived. She is then said to have ceased all appearances before re-emerging in Ukraine on 1 July.
Furthermore, two people have been apprehended and are considered the presumed perpetrators of the murder. One of them is a civil servant posted within Ukrainian intelligence services; the other is a former member of the security forces.
With the death of the principal suspect, investigators are likely to struggle to trace back to those who ordered the attack carried out on Monégasque soil.
