According to actu.fr, a man in his thirties was found dead on a public road in Clécy (Calvados) during the night of Friday 11 to Saturday 12 September 2026. The man in his thirties is believed to have succumbed to stab wounds despite emergency services' intervention.

An inquiry into voluntary homicide has been opened following the incident. On Saturday 12 September, until 14:30, criminal identification services were present at the scene, located a few metres from the road connecting Flers to Caen, in order to carry out samples.

Contacted late in the afternoon, the mayor of Clécy, Romuald Ferrari, indicated that "the victim is not a resident of Clécy". The elected official also clarified that the attacker had not yet been identified by gendarmerie services. "I have no further information," he added.
