Residents of Nîmes were called to gather on Monday at 7pm in the town centre for a new demonstration of support in memory of Lyhanna. The body of the teenager had been recovered in the Gers department on 4 June, under criminal circumstances that provoked national emotion.

Notices had been circulating for several days: white clothing mandatory, light-coloured flower to be worn. This collective initiative came a week after an initial mobilisation that had attracted nearly four hundred people near the Nîmes courthouse.

Other French cities were preparing events of the same kind. The Occitanie region had already seen large crowds gather the previous week to express their outrage at this tragedy.
