No case to answer for jockey Pierre-Charles Boudot accused of rape
The courts have decided not to proceed with charges against the celebrated French jockey accused of sexual assault. He had already benefited from a similar decision in another matter.
Justice closes rape case against jockey Pierre-Charles Boudot
The magistrates issued an order of no case to answer in favour of Pierre-Charles Boudot. The prosecutor general's office in Amiens and the rider's lawyer confirmed the information to the AFP on Friday.
This internationally renowned jockey, considered among the best in his discipline on a global scale, had been subject to proceedings since 2021. A young woman had accused him of sexual assault committed in Cagnes-sur-Mer, in the Alpes-Maritimes. The investigation ultimately concluded there were insufficient grounds for a trial.
This decision is not the first to close proceedings against the sportsman. At the end of 2025, another case dating from 2015 in Deauville, in the Calvados, had already ended in a dismissal without further action.
These accusations had severely affected the career of the person in question. Banned from French competitions since 2021, he had been forced to continue his activities in Qatar, where the authorities had allowed him to return to riding.
