A 25-year-old man employed at an out-of-school care centre in the 10th arrondissement has been found guilty of sexual violence against a young girl aged 3 to 5 years old.

Paris criminal court delivered its verdict on Friday 10 July: a 25-year-old man, employed as a supervisor at an out-of-school care centre in the 10th arrondissement, was sentenced to eighteen months imprisonment with the sentence suspended. He was found guilty of sexually abusive behaviour towards a very young girl placed under his care. The child was aged 3 to 5 years old at the time of the incidents.
The offences took place over a period from July 2023 to October 2025. The victim's complaint to her father and mother led to an end to the abusive behaviour. Both parents separately heard their daughter's account, which enabled the magistrates to verify the consistency of her statements.
The judges particularly emphasised the reliability of the child's account, finding that she showed no tendency to fabricate details. On the contrary, she described in a structured manner how the events unfolded. By contrast, the defendant's explanations were deemed inconsistent: he initially denied any knowledge of the girl, before admitting contact and then again denying any physical contact.
Photographs found on the supervisor's mobile device showed that he engaged in physical contact with children, despite being informed of the prohibition on such conduct. The layout of the playground was moreover considered consistent with the scenario described by the victim.
The defendant is now prohibited from exercising any profession involving contact with minors. His lawyer declined to make a statement following the hearing. He has a period of ten days in which to lodge an appeal.
The family's representative, Maître Charles Héran, welcomed the court decision which, in his view, offers hope for the future. He expressed the wish that the convicted man accept the judgment and follow the treatment that has been prescribed for him.
This case follows two other Paris proceedings that resulted in the acquittal of coordinators prosecuted for similar offences. Additionally, another case involving sexual violence had emerged within the school establishment attached to the same leisure centre.
