Patrick Bruel accused by dozens of women: tour cancelled and withdrawal from Enfoirés
Patrick Bruel, targeted by accusations of rape and sexual assault from more than thirty women, has cancelled his concerts and suspended his participation in the Enfoirés.
Patrick Bruel implicated: festivals cancelled, Enfoirés departure
According to voici.fr, Patrick Bruel will be absent from summer festivals from June to September 2026 after being forced to cancel several dates of his Alors Regarde 35 tour. The singer is accused of sexual violence by more than thirty women, for incidents that allegedly occurred between 1991 and 2019. He categorically denies all accusations against him.
The matter took on new significance with broadcaster Flavie Flament speaking out, having filed a rape complaint against him. She claims to have been a minor at the time of the alleged incidents. Flament subsequently reiterated her accusations and denounced what she describes as a defamation campaign conducted by the singer against her.
Previous complaints dismissed
Problematic behaviour had already been reported before the matter became public. In 2019, masseuses accused Patrick Bruel of sexual harassment. These investigations were dismissed for lack of sufficient evidence. The accumulation of testimonies since then has revived questions about the artist's past.
Paris Match looked into the late 1990s, a period during which Bruel was going through a difficult patch before relaunching his career thanks to an invitation from Johnny Hallyday to perform on the Stade de France stage in 1998. Journalist Benjamin Locoge, cited by the magazine, made a revelation: "To better separate personal life and professional life, he took out a second mobile phone line at that time, intended mainly for those he would like to know in a more intimate way." Still according to Paris Match, Bruel, who is in a relationship with a woman 32 years his junior, allegedly boasted "in private of having had 700 women" — "it is much more", according to someone close to him who confided in the magazine.
Withdrawal from Enfoirés
The matter extends beyond his solo career alone. Patrick Bruel, with 33 participations to his name, is one of the historic members of the Enfoirés troupe. He announced his withdrawal before the next show, addressing a message to other members so as not to put anyone, in his own terms as reported by RTL, "in any kind of difficulty". He specified that this departure was not definitive: "I hope to join you again when justice has proved my innocence", he allegedly concluded.
Shortly after this announcement, a former Enfoirés volunteer, in turn, denounced inappropriate behaviour on his part behind the scenes, extending a series of testimonies that shows no sign of letting up.
Fans and organisations react
Several feminist organisations had called for the cancellation of his concerts even before the singer himself made the decision. Among his fans, the accumulation of accounts has led some to question their admiration for the man who had embodied "Bruelmania" in the 1990s. Others are waiting for the courts to rule before forming a definitive judgement.
Patrick Bruel, who does not intend to end his career, nonetheless finds himself excluded from summer stages for an indefinite period. The judicial outcome of all complaints filed against him remains, at this stage, uncertain.
