Two women have filed new complaints against singer Patrick Bruel, who is already the subject of several proceedings for sexual violence offences. These accusations concern alleged incidents that occurred in 2007 and 2012.
The first complainant, a 45-year-old psychotherapist, claims to have known the artist in the early 2000s. According to statements reported by Mediapart, their meetings were systematically accompanied by sexual relations. In October 2007, on the occasion of the film festival in Réunion where Bruel was present as a patron, she describes a scene in which, after entering his hotel room, she found him naked before he allegedly pushed her against the wall whilst attempting to kiss her by force. She reportedly managed to escape.
The second alleged victim accuses the artist of rape and sexual assault committed in spring 2012, but preferred not to disclose the precise circumstances of the incidents.
Their counsel, Me Jade Dousselin, has validated these accusations without going into detail. She considers that the matter is only in its early stages and that these new complaints will be added to the existing case file, opening the way to possible further charges.
The singer was placed under investigation status this week after two days in police custody. The investigating magistrate refused the request for detention made by the Nanterre prosecutor's office, instead imposing judicial supervision. He denies all the accusations against him and has decided to cancel most of the dates on his upcoming tour. His representatives have not immediately responded to requests for comment from the news agency.
