The public prosecutor's office sought a life sentence on Thursday against Delphine Pinto, a 48-year-old woman accused of having her husband killed. The crime dates back to August 2021 in Breuil-le-Vert, in Oise. The victim, a 41-year-old physiotherapist, was shot in the head whilst he was in his garden.
The prosecutor also requested the same sentence for the man alleged to have pulled the trigger, with 22 years without remission. For the accused woman's lover, the alleged intermediary, the request is 18 years. The man who allegedly provided the weapon faces 14 years imprisonment. The suspect's eldest son, who was aware of the plan according to the charges, is being prosecuted for 5 years, one of which is suspended.
The magistrate denounced the "dozens of changes" and "dozens of contradictions" in the versions given by the accused. He described their behaviour as a "complete absence of remorse".
Delphine Pinto is described as a manipulator who subjected her husband to psychological control. She has acknowledged being a compulsive liar and has already been convicted of fraud. Witnesses described a threatening personality.
One week before his death, the victim obtained a dismissal of charges for allegations of sexual assault brought by his wife and three of his stepchildren. The prosecution refers to "false accusations" against an "innocent man".
The magistrate requested the removal of the suspect's parental authority over her two daughters. Defence closing arguments begin on Friday. The verdict is expected in the evening.
