According to mediapart.fr, the National Rally announced the expulsion of a member of its security team, a municipal police officer in Carcassonne (Aude), following the release of video excerpts concerning him. The mayor of the town simultaneously pronounced his suspension.
It was the daily newspaper Midi libre that revealed, on Tuesday 8 September, excerpts from a six-hour video. The recording dates from 6 November 2025 and comes from the officer's body camera, which was activated involuntarily. It contains racist, misogynistic and reportedly seditious remarks.
The matter does not date entirely from this week: a judicial inquiry had already been opened at the start of the year. The public prosecutor's office confirmed its opening following the release of the images, according to information relayed by several media outlets.
The police officer was both an employee of the municipality and an active figure within the National Rally's security team, a party that chose to separate from him as soon as the facts were publicly revealed. The mayor of Carcassonne, whose official was described as close, for his part initiated administrative suspension proceedings.
