Four bodies discovered in a mobile home in Gy, including two children
According to Google News LU FR, four members of the same family were found dead on Wednesday 2 September at around 20:00 in Gy, Haute-Saône. The bodies — those of a man, his two sons aged 6 and 9, and a woman whose family connection remains to be established — were discovered in a high-lying area of the municipality, where caravans and mobile homes are stationed.
One of the bodies was found in a white utility vehicle parked at the site; the other three were inside a mobile home. According to initial reports, the father allegedly shot his relatives with a firearm before turning the weapon on himself.
"It's a horror what happened. I heard gunshots," declared a neighbour. She clarified that she had seen the eldest of the children taking out the rubbish on a scooter about thirty minutes before the incident.
A significant gendarmerie force was deployed at the scene, notably including forensic identification technicians (TIC). Wearing their white overalls, these specialists carried out initial evidence collection, work that was to continue during the night from Wednesday to Thursday.
The public prosecutor for Vesoul attended the scene and confirmed the discovery of the four bodies. He specified that the connection of the fourth victim — a woman — with the other family members had not yet been formally established. The mayor of Gy was also present at the scene.
An investigation for voluntary manslaughter was opened to determine precisely the circumstances of this tragedy. The bodies were to be removed during the night.
