A delivery sent to the wrong address led to the dismantling of a drug trafficking network in southern France. Four people were arrested on Tuesday by French gendarmes as part of this investigation, according to HBVL.
A Belgian and a German, both in their thirties and long-established in France, are believed to be at the head of the organisation. After the goods were delivered by mistake, investigators managed to identify all the protagonists, including individuals from the rave-party scene.
Raids were conducted on Tuesday, notably in the centre of Saint-Paul-de-Vence, a popular tourist destination. Law enforcement seized various types of synthetic drugs as well as cannabis. The value of these narcotics, which were destined for resale, is estimated at between 700,000 and 900,000 euros.
The two alleged leaders do not fit the classic profile of drug barons. The Belgian national works as an ambulance driver. His accomplice worked in his mother's art gallery, located in Saint-Paul-de-Vence. The Grasse public prosecutor's office questioned them on Friday.
