Record cocaine seizure in Toulouse
According to ladepeche.fr, four traffickers were arrested near Toulouse overnight from Thursday to Friday in possession of 40 kilograms of cocaine. The suspects, mostly aged between 20 and 30, were arrested by the brigade of search and intervention (BRI) around 3 a.m. at a toll booth.
The seizure, estimated at over one million euros at wholesale rate, represents a value exceeding 2 million euros at retail. The convoy arrested comprised several vehicles, including an "opening" car and a "carrier" car, characteristics typical of organised drug transport arrangements.
The operation crowns an investigation carried out over several months by the Division for combating territorial crime (DCT). The investigations, initiated in December 2025 on a preliminary basis by the Toulouse public prosecutor's office, have continued for several weeks under a rogatory commission from an investigating judge. The suspects are suspected of making regular journeys from Spain to supply cocaine to retailers in the Mirail district in Toulouse.
The four individuals, represented notably by Messrs Séverine Bouchaïb, Ravyn Issa and Morgane Dupoux, are to be presented before an investigating magistrate this Monday with a view to being charged with drug trafficking in an organised gang. They may be subject to extended custody for up to 96 hours in this type of case. The suspects spoke little during their questioning, according to sources.
