In Dax and Saint-Paul-lès-Dax, law enforcement put an end to a drug trafficking operation. Customers placed orders via messaging before receiving their package. Four members of the group are in custody awaiting trial.

Investigators concluded several months of surveillance and monitoring operations to dismantle, on 30 June 2026, a drug trafficking network based in Dax and in the neighbouring municipality of Saint-Paul-lès-Dax. The operation mobilised police officers from the local judicial service as well as reinforcements from the National Investigation Unit.
The network centred principally around cocaine. To obtain the merchandise, buyers used the Snapchat application. Deliveries were subsequently made directly to their homes, on the same principle as a conventional delivery platform, according to details provided by the authorities. The activity is thought to have generated monthly revenue of up to 25,000 euros.
The investigation also uncovered a financial aspect. Large sums were withdrawn in cash, and transfers were made to an account opened in Spain.
The operation resulted in the arrest of six individuals. During searches, police officers discovered a defence pistol, several mobile phones, payment cards, as well as sachets containing cocaine, cannabis, ketamine and ecstasy tablets ready to be sold.
Four of the six people arrested were brought before the magistrate at the Dax public prosecutor's office before being remanded in custody. On 7 July, the criminal chamber of the judicial court granted them an adjournment to prepare their defence. Their trial will take place in September. They remain in prison until then.
