Drug network dismantled in Charleville-Mézières: 13 arrested, 2.4 kg of drugs seized

According to champagnefm.com, a structured drugs trafficking network operating in the Ronde-Couture district in Charleville-Mézières was dismantled on Tuesday 2 June 2026, following an operation mobilising 170 officers of the national gendarmerie.
The prosecutor of the Republic for Charleville-Mézières, Magali Josse, described the operation as one of "significant judicial scope". The investigations were conducted by the research brigade in Sedan and the research section in Reims, acting on a commission rogatoire from an investigating judge.
Thirteen individuals were arrested during the operation. The searches resulted in the seizure of 1.371 kg of cocaine, 1 kg of heroin, 1 kg of cannabis resin and 23 g of cannabis herb, as well as 8,970 retail packaging units. Equipment was also found: mobile phones, walkie-talkies, precision scales and safes.
Following their custody periods, five of the persons concerned — including four minors — were referred to court, presented to the investigating judge and put under investigation. Two were remanded in custody, two minors were referred to a closed educational centre and the fifth individual was placed under judicial supervision.
In a statement, prosecutor Josse "congratulates all 170 officers of the national gendarmerie for the success of this operation", emphasising the "unwavering determination of the justice system in the fight against drug trafficking, a priority of the penal policy of the Charleville-Mézières prosecutor's office, throughout the Ardennes department".
Investigations are continuing.
