Franco-Spanish drug network dismantled in Eure-et-Loir: 400 kg of cannabis seized, six people remanded in custody
An international drug trafficking network operating between Spain and the regions of Évreux and Dreux was dismantled on 4 June. Eight people were arrested, six of whom were remanded in custody.

According to Google News FR — Crime (fr), the investigative units of the gendarmerie in Rouen and Orléans put an end on 4 June 2026 to the activities of an international drug trafficking network active in the sectors of Évreux and Dreux. Eight people were arrested during this large-scale operation.
The network was sourcing drugs from Spain and ensuring their distribution in the Eure department and Eure-et-Loir. A convoy of two vehicles was intercepted in Gironde upon its return from Spain: one of the cars was transporting 400 kilogrammes of cannabis resin.
Several months of surveillance
The network had been under investigation for several months, within the framework of a judicial inquiry opened in April by the Évreux public prosecutor's office. Given the scale of the trafficking, a national investigative task force had been set up specially for the occasion, bringing together gendarmes from both investigative units, the GIR and the departmental gendarmerie units of Eure (27) and Eure-et-Loir (28).
These investigations had made it possible to identify the main members of the network as well as its modus operandi. The traffickers regularly organised convoys between Spain and France, then laundered their profits through a carpentry business and real estate acquisitions.
120 gendarmes mobilised, one million euros in assets seized
On 4 June, 120 gendarmes took part in the operation. Besides the two drivers of the convoy, six other individuals were arrested simultaneously in Eure and Eure-et-Loir. The searches made it possible to seize, in addition to the 400 kg of cannabis, 400 grammes of cocaine, for a total estimated value of approximately 1.3 million euros.
The investigators also seized several firearms, as well as approximately one million euros in assets: bank accounts, real estate, luxury leather goods, furniture, electrical appliances and vehicles. Following their custody period, six people were charged and remanded in custody. The other two will be summoned at the end of June before the investigating judge in Évreux. Further arrests are still expected.
