According to dna.fr, at 10:50 on Thursday 10 September, a young man presented himself at Hautepierre University Hospital in Strasbourg with an alarm pistol hidden in his bag. His behaviour immediately aroused the suspicions of security officers present at the screening.
During the search, an officer spotted the butt of the weapon and asked the young man to follow him. The police were immediately alerted. The weapon proved to be fake and without ammunition. The suspect was arrested and placed in custody.
Before the magistrate's court, he stated that he had acquired the weapon via Snapchat for the sum of 280 euros, citing reasons of personal security due to "problems outside". After the hearing, he left with an electronic tag.
