Anti-police inscriptions reported during antifascist forum in the Jura

During a demonstration organised by the AFA 39 collective in Lons-le-Saunier on Sunday 6 September, tags described as "ignominious" were drawn on street furniture, according to TF1 Info. These inscriptions explicitly called for the murder of police officers.

The prefect of the Jura, Pierre-Édouard Colliex, condemned the acts on X and Facebook, indicating that he had "immediately" alerted the public prosecutor of Lons-le-Saunier. He also expressed his "total support for police officers and gendarmes".

Colliex stated that "everything will be done to ensure that the perpetrators of these criminal acts are rapidly identified, arrested and brought before the courts to answer for their actions".

The demonstration was part of an "antifascist forum" held from Friday to Sunday by the Jura antifascist collective, featuring conferences, round-table discussions and concerts.
