Tarbes: suspect abandons bag of drugs while fleeing municipal police
In Tarbes, a man caught consuming nitrous oxide fled, leaving behind a bag containing significant quantities of narcotics.

According to ladepeche.fr, the municipal police of Tarbes apprehended an individual on Friday morning during a patrol, whilst he was consuming nitrous oxide in public.
At the sight of the officers, the man fled, abandoning his rucksack. Inside, police officers discovered "a substantial quantity of narcotic products". The case was subsequently transmitted to the national police, which is now conducting the investigation.
The mayor of Tarbes, Pascal Claverie, commented on the incident: "This episode demonstrates once again the usefulness of a regular and visible presence of our municipal police on the ground in cooperation with the national police." The elected official also wished to "thank our municipal police officers for their vigilance and their daily commitment in service of the people of Tarbes".
