Toulouse: man apprehended with taser after brandishing knife in live TikTok broadcast
A drunk man was restrained with a taser in Toulouse after displaying a knife live on TikTok. Witnesses had alerted police.

According to Google News FR — Crime (fr), a man in a state of intoxication was apprehended in Toulouse (Haute-Garonne) during the night of 31 August to 1 September 2026, after displaying a knife in the middle of the street while filming himself live on TikTok. It was witnesses who alerted law enforcement.
The canine unit located the suspect thanks to descriptions provided by several witnesses. As police approached, the man attempted to flee and resisted during his apprehension, according to a police source cited by La Dépêche and Actu Toulouse. Officers resorted to using a taser to restrain him.
The identity of the suspect was not disclosed. Following his arrest, he was first placed in a sobering-up cell, then taken into custody.
This is not the first time such an incident has occurred in the city. In May, a 35-year-old man had also been apprehended in Toulouse following a live broadcast on TikTok in which he displayed a firearm, following reports from internet users.
