Around 3 o'clock in the morning on Sunday, 14 June 2026, a unit from the anti-crime brigade was called to a nightclub located on the quay of Saint-Étienne Port in Toulouse. A customer had just reported being threatened with a firearm by another individual following an altercation.

Officers arrived at the scene less than thirty minutes later. The suspect, a man of approximately thirty years old, was identified. He turned around to re-enter the establishment, ignoring the police officers' orders. The thirty-year-old attempted to reach his bag, which alerted the law enforcement officers.

The apprehension proved difficult. The man struggled, forcing police officers to forcibly extract him from the club. Once handcuffed, he was searched. In his bag, officers discovered a pistol containing ammunition, ready to be used.

The man is currently being held in custody. He is being questioned for illegal possession of a weapon and for acts of resistance to authority. Investigators are seeking to establish whether he intended to use this weapon against police officers or against the person involved in the initial dispute.

The seized weapon will be sent to the forensic laboratory for examination. Experts will attempt to link this pistol to other cases.
