Toulouse: man charged with rapes of Asian sex workers

A 49-year-old man was charged in Toulouse in June 2026 with multiple rapes committed against Asian sex workers between 2021 and 2024. The victims describe an identical modus operandi: appointments made online, then violence and rape.

Charged with repeated rapes

According to Le Monde - Justice, a 49-year-old man was charged in Toulouse in early June 2026 following his arrest by the territorial crime division (DCT). He is accused of multiple rapes committed against Asian sex workers in 2021 and late 2024.

The modus operandi described by at least two victims remains consistent: the man books appointments via escort websites, commits violence and rapes without protection before leaving the premises. The precise descriptions provided by the victims and material evidence, notably recordings of appointment bookings, pointed the investigation towards him.

Insufficient justifications

In police custody, the suspect denied the accusations, stating: "It is not me, I prefer blondes," according to a source close to the case. This justification did not convince investigators.

The man has a virtually clean criminal record and was not known to police for morals offences. The public prosecutor decided to place him under judicial supervision rather than in pre-trial detention. The investigation continues to determine whether he may have committed other crimes.

The original article also mentions that the suspect was arrested at Toulouse railway station following a separate incident unrelated to the rapes.
