Toulouse: man charged with serial rapes

A 49-year-old man was charged in early June 2026 in Toulouse, according to actu.fr, with multiple rapes committed against Asian sex workers. The offences date from 2021 to late 2024.

The victims share two characteristics: they are sex workers and of Asian origin. The alleged perpetrator would arrange appointments via escort websites, then commit the violence without protection before leaving the scene. At least two women provided detailed testimony to investigators.

Following the latest complaint, filed after a rape that occurred in September 2024, the suspect was detained by the DCT (division of territorialised criminality) in early June 2026. The precise descriptions given by the victims and material evidence, including appointment bookings, facilitated his identification.

While in police custody, the man charged provided a justification deemed unconvincing by investigators: "It wasn't me, I prefer blondes," he stated, according to a source close to the case.

The man's criminal record is virtually clean — he was not known to police for any morals offences. The prosecutor decided to place him under judicial supervision rather than in pre-trial detention. The investigation continues to determine whether other victims could be identified.
