Gendarmes have apprehended a family clan that was distributing cannabis in Laon and Soissons. Five members were arrested and more than 230,000 euros of assets seized.

A criminal family organisation specialising in the sale of cannabis in the Laon and Soissons areas has been dismantled by gendarmes from the Laon research brigade following a year-long investigation, according to L'Aisne nouvelle.
Everything began in spring 2025, when customs officers intercepted packages containing drugs. Investigators quickly understood that the apparent recipient was serving as a front. Behind it was an organised structure, piloted by a man, his partner and close relatives.
Months of surveillance and tailing preceded the operation. Five suspects were apprehended. During the residential searches, law enforcement discovered weapons, resin and cannabis, as well as 235,000 euros of illegal profits. Among the assets seized were apartments and houses, a Tesla saloon car, bank savings accounts and cash.
The ringleader appeared before magistrates at the Laon judicial court. The court sentenced him to three years' imprisonment, of which eighteen months was suspended on probation for two years. He is required to engage in professional activity, to benefit from medical support for his consumption and to settle his tax debts. All seized assets were handed over to the State. He is moreover barred from holding a weapon for five years and has been placed in custody.
