A cannabis delivery network operating on the model of "Uber" has been dismantled in Vaucluse. Five people have been arrested by gendarmes from Orange.

According to ici.fr, a cannabis trafficking network operating in the municipalities of Violès and Jonquières has been dismantled, resulting in the arrest of five people who were taken into custody and subsequently referred to the public prosecutor's office in Carpentras.
The trafficking operation, described as "Uber-style" by the public prosecutor of Carpentras, was organised via social media and encrypted messaging services. Gendarmes from the Orange company carried out the arrests and seized cannabis resin, several vehicles used for deliveries, packaging materials, and cash.
Among the five arrested individuals, three young men from Violès, aged 21, 23 and 28, are described as being "known to police and judicial services in an unfavourable light". They will be tried in immediate appearance proceedings in November. Two of them have been remanded in custody pending trial; the third is subject to judicial supervision.
The two other suspects, with no criminal records, were dealt with through summary guilty plea proceedings (CRPC). They were sentenced to eight and nine months' imprisonment with a suspended sentence.
"This case once again illustrates the commitment and effectiveness of the Carpentras public prosecutor's office and the Orange gendarmerie company in the daily fight against drug trafficking and organised crime," declared the public prosecutor of Carpentras in a statement dated Friday 4 September 2026.
