The Bourges magistrates' court saw the prosecution request heavy sentences against eight individuals tried for cannabis and cocaine trafficking in the Northern districts of Bourges and in Saint-Germain-du-Puy, according to Le Berry Républicain.
The offences took place between January 2022 and November 2023. In court, a 30-year-old Bourges resident, presented as the head of the network, saw the public prosecutor request a sentence of six years' imprisonment. He admitted from the outset of proceedings to all the conduct of which he stood accused. Investigators identified 92 clients of this operator spread across the entire Cher department.
The seven other defendants face requests ranging from six months' suspended sentence to six years' detention. The hearing opened on Wednesday 1 July and was to continue beyond the date this article was written.
The investigations made it possible to dismantle an organisation active in the Northern districts of the Cher prefecture as well as in the neighbouring town of Saint-Germain-du-Puy. The main suspect, who now lives in Puy-de-Dôme, was confronted with a substantial file comprising numerous transactions and an established clientele.
