Dismantling of a drug network in Occitanie

According to Centre Presse Aveyron, an investigation launched in July by the search brigade of Castelsarrasin made it possible to dismantle a drug trafficking operation based in a fast-food establishment in Valence-d'Agen, in Tarn-et-Garonne. The operation took place on 6 October with the arrest of eight people.

Nearly 90 gendarmes participated in the interventions, which extended to Lot, Lot-et-Garonne and Seine-Maritime. The officers seized 18 cannabis plants under cultivation, 900 grammes of cannabis and 580 grammes of cocaine. They also recovered telephones and weighing and packaging equipment, valued at 25,000 euros in total.

The investigation revealed that the proceeds from the trafficking were laundered through the fast-food establishment. The eight defendants were presented on 9 October before the prosecutor of the Republic of Montauban for an immediate appearance hearing with a view to their trial.
