Drug-trafficking operation dismantled in Luc-la-Primaube: cocaine, cannabis and €19,000 seized

According to Google News FR — Crime (fr), it was whilst responding to a call for domestic violence that officers from the Aveyron gendarmerie uncovered a major drug-trafficking operation in Luc-la-Primaube on Thursday 20 August 2026.
The day before, military personnel from the Rodez brigade community had been called in connection with an emergency procedure related to violence within a young couple who had recently moved to the commune. The following day, the suspect was arrested, and it was during a search of his home that the scale of the trafficking operation became apparent.
Officers discovered more than 1.7 kilograms of cocaine and 4.7 kilograms of cannabis resin, as well as more than €19,000 in cash. Household appliances, video-game consoles and flat-screen televisions were also seized, most of them "acquired thanks to illicit income from the said trafficking operation", according to the Aveyron gendarmerie. These items were "definitively confiscated for the benefit of the State".
The operation mobilised a dog-handler team from Toulouse, investigators specialising in new technologies, the Rodez research brigade as well as support personnel from the Rodez gendarmerie grouping. "Meticulous investigations conducted with speed have made it possible to put an end to the sustained activity of a major drug-trafficking operation in the Rodez agglomeration and its surroundings", the gendarmerie stated on its social media.
As for the suspect, the Rodez public prosecutor's office ordered a hearing for acknowledgement of guilt, allowing for swift judgement followed by his imprisonment.
